IS 319 / 89 - GRADE 1

IS 319 Free Cutting Grade I is the standard grade across the Asian Sub continent for Free Machining Brass. Commonly known as CW614N in Europe, it is the widely used owing to its suitability for high speed machining operations and also for manufacture of complex parts. The ease of brazing/soldering, high corrosion resistance combined with its good strength and a machinability rating of 100% makes it an ideal choice of application in wide range of brass components throughout the industry

IS 319- I/ CW614N/ CZ 121 finds its use in a wide variety of high speed machined components, architectural products, hinges, locks, butts, screws, nuts and bolts.

IS 319 / 89 - GRADE 2

IS 319 Grade 2 is commonly known as UNS C36000 or CDA360. When machinability is the prime consideration this alloy stands out as a preferred choice. It stands out to be the most economical material for tapping, threading, and milling or turning primarily due to presence of 3% Lead in the material. It has excellent cutting properties with long tool life and excellent surface finish.

IS 319 / 89 - GRADE 3

IS 319 Grade III has almost the same chemical properties as UNS C36000 but with a lesser percentage of Lead. As compared to the other two grades, the capacity for being cold work for this grade is Fair. It is ideal for Hot formation and has excellent machinability.

DTD 627

CZ131 or commonly known as DTD 627 in the Asian Sub-continent, is a riveting and turning brass quality grade with improved ductility. This alloy offers a good corrosion resistance along with high strength characteristics which results in excellent formation for bending and cold heading. CZ131 contains higher amount of Copper percentage which makes it an ideal choice for components that require crimping and machining on the head parts.

Typical Applications:

DTD 627 is generally used for those parts where hot forming is of prime importance. It finds its applications in Electrical components, auto parts, headed components, plumbing and sanitary fittings and watch components .

CZ 114

CZ114 is a type of High Tensile Brass with higher percentage of Aluminum and finds its application where strength and Corrosion resistance are required. This grade has a poor machinability rating but is excellent for hot forgeability. Sometimes it is also referred as Manganese Bronze. The Aluminum and Tin Percentage helps in brighter finish of the material with improved corrosion resistance. The addition of Iron helps in improving the strength level of the material.
